Do you have concerns about selecting the ring?
There’s no shame in that. It is quite appropriate to worry about selecting the correct engagement ring since there have been major mistakes made in the past. The results of exceptionally poor planning can lead to financial difficulties, relationship problems, or even just annoyance and frustration that can last for many years to come.
So — how do you choose an engagement ring?
You should know beforehand what your realistic spending limit is. Don’t let a salesperson fool you into spending more than you need to for a ring.
It is a false standards, the imaginary figure madeĀ by the De Beer’s diamond company in the 20th century had more diamonds than the people who need them. This company put together a landmark program that not only let them sell millions of diamonds. they also say that that is the only acceptable stone for engagement, but to this day they still charge more then what the stone is really worth.
Professionals who have a vested interest in the wedding (and associated) businesses can provide the second figure. An “average” price is like that: the average teaching none more than a midpoint cost range when saying nothing about some reasons a couple maybe spend more,or much, much less.
Make your own decision, on the whole, where the primary spending in the marriage should be. Instead of wasting money on a wedding and a ring, it could be better spent on a house, car, or for professional certification in many fields.
On the other hand, if you just can not resist and have the financial coverage, a top of the line unique diamond is a prime way to spend your money. The point is to work that out before you make any further choices, or you will find yourselves being “guided” to decisions that are of benefit to your jewelry provider, not you.
That doesn’t mean that you can’t have trust in your jeweler. By selecting a trustworthy, competent, and experienced jeweler you gain a friend who’s in your corner. Communicate nicely with him or her and you may be offered great deals, stones, or options you might not ever have thought about. But that means thinking out what you want in terms of price, style, quality and appearance before walking into the store. Otherwise you are in the same bad place you are with a hairstylist when you just say “cut it.” Only a bad choice of ring never “grows out” later.
The basics of style and stone can be learned online. You can obtain a rudimentary familiarity with jewelery by performing some research on jewelry designers, ring styles, and stones on the internet. Never fake it by acting like you know more than you actually do. You shouldn’t shop without the knowledge you need. The jeweler may not be able to gauge your mind, more so when you have not formed any thoughts.
Don’t make the mistake of rushing the process of the diamond buying, with the help of your partner and jeweler you should be able to pick a beautiful style all your own that is comfortable to wear and you are proud to show off.
