One of the simplest and best ways to not only improve the look of your home but the value as well is painting.  Even though it is easy, it is one of the best home improvements you can do. In this economoy, anything that is in your control like improving the value of your house is worth doing.

So here are 6 easy steps to painting your house right.  These steps come from my experience in being a painters San Diego.   So it should be beneficial and of use to doing the job correctly.

Owning a painting San Diego company has helped me prove these steps over and over again.  So follow along and watch your house turn into a beauty and improve in value.

First step is surface preparation.  Unless your home has been through some sort of disaster, there won’t be too much preparation to worry about.  All you are going to need to do is be sure it is smooth and sanded if you have to.

Second step in the process is priming.  This is an easy stage and the main goal is to use a primer that is tinted close to the finish color.  This makes the job of applying the finish color much easier.

Third step is a surface preparation step once again.  This part of the process is to ensure that nothing was missed the first time around.  Things such as nail holes, or any other dents or blemishes in the wall.  You are going to be using a drywall compound to have those holes filled.

Fourth step is to put on that first coat of paint.  With this part of the process you are going to want to paint brush one wall at a time.

Fifth step is going to be another surface preparation type of step.  You are doing this to check over the surface one last time to make sure it is smooth prior to the last coat of paint.  Once again, any imperfections you find can be fixed with a drywall compound.

Final step in this process is applying the last coat of paint.  This is the best step because you will see all your hard work come together.  So once more, you are going to paint one wall surface at a time.  Be sure that the coat of paint has been evenly distributed.

Follow all these six steps and you will be pleased with the outcome of your home improvement.  A coat of paint can dramatically improve a drab room and turn it into a beautiful room.

With the cost involved in doing a simple room paint job, your return on investment will be huge.  I have seen it firsthand add thousands to the value of the home in my San Diego painting company.   This simple home improvement of painting can add thousands of dollars in the value of your home.

Economy of Painting Your House

In this time of economic uncertainty, most people have to cut back on expenses.  One of the biggest things they try not to do is home improvements.

In a great economy, home improvements are all over. Contractors are busy and happy with all the work.  But when the economy turns, you can feel it in the contracting industry.

But I would like to point out that in this economy, painting your house might actually be a great use of your money.  I should know living in San Diego where you can definitely feel the housing slump, painting San Diego houses definitely helps.

Let’s consider some reasons why. Two things to think about are if you are selling your house or if you are keeping your house.

If you plan to sell the house, painting your house is a wise economic move. With the housing crash, and falling prices of homes, most homes will not sell fast. The ones that are going to sell fast are the ones that look good. Buyers are more picky now and usually wait for something they really like.

Well if you choose to hire a painter, not only does it make your house look better, it actually improves the value of your home.A house that looks new and freshly painted will sell much faster than an old house with no improvements.

So by getting that professional painter to make your house look good in and out, that expense actually turns into a good investment.

Now if you don’t have any plans on selling, what are the benefits of painting?  Homeowners everywhere always want a  nice place to live in. In an economic time of less money for expenses, painting is actually a pretty inexpensive home improvement
I have seen this first hand as a painter San Diego.

A brand new coat of paint turns your old house into a house that looks like new. Do it for inside your house as well as outside and you create a great place to live.

When you can’t afford to spend on that room addition painting is a great option.

When you can’t afford to remodel the bathroom or kitchen, you can make that room look new with a fresh coat of paint.

In these bad economic times, most of the time you aren’t going to be able to do what you want with your home.  Hiring painters San Diego contractors gives you that flexibility to still improve your home with little costs.
